Asbestos Cancer: Mesothelioma
Chrysotile Peritoneal Mesothelioma
Chrysotile Mesothelioma is also related to asbestos exposure. This cancer attacks the lining of the stomach wall. When small chrysotile fibers are inhaled and become lodged, it can cause this form of peritoneal mesothelioma.
Diagnosis is often 40 or more years after initial exposure. Those with the disease often suffer with pain in the stomach area. Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting, constipation, and swelling.
Usually because of the nature of the disease, once a diagnosis is made it is in it's advanced stages and quality of life becomes the goal for the patient.
